ESG-IN Continues Environmental Action with Second River Cleanup in Indonesia

Following the success of its first river cleanup activity, ESG-IN returned to Kampung Kelor, Sepatan Timur, Tangerang Regency, for another environmental action aimed at restoring local waterways and encouraging community participation.

On June 14, 2026, thirteen participants joined ESG-IN for a 4.5-hour cleanup operation, working together to remove approximately 1 ton of waste from a village river and its surrounding area.

While the amount of waste collected was smaller than during the first cleanup, the activity reinforced an important lesson: protecting the environment is not achieved through a single event but through continuous action.

Continuing Our Commitment

When ESG-IN organized its first river cleanup in May, it became clear that many local waterways had been suffering from years of accumulated pollution.

Returning to the community only a few weeks later was an opportunity to continue that effort rather than treat it as a one-time campaign.

Environmental restoration requires consistency. Every cleanup contributes to healthier waterways, greater public awareness, and stronger community involvement.

This second cleanup reflects ESG-IN's commitment to building long-term environmental impact through regular action.

Working Together for Cleaner Rivers

The cleanup brought together local participants who dedicated their morning and afternoon to improving the condition of their community.

For four and a half hours, volunteers entered the river, collected floating debris, removed waste trapped along the riverbanks, and gathered garbage that had accumulated over time.

By the end of the activity, approximately one ton of waste had been removed from the site.

Although significant progress was made, the team also observed that waste continues to enter the river, highlighting the need for ongoing community participation and improved waste management practices.

Every Cleanup Reveals New Challenges

Each environmental activity provides valuable insight into the realities faced by local communities.

Compared with the first cleanup, participants noticed that some previously cleaned sections remained in better condition, while other areas had already begun accumulating new waste.

This illustrates one of the biggest environmental challenges: cleaning a river is only the first step. Preventing pollution from returning requires education, public awareness, and continuous participation.

For ESG-IN, these activities are not only cleanup operations but also opportunities to better understand local environmental issues and develop sustainable solutions together with the community.

Building More Than a Cleanup Movement

ESG-IN believes that environmental action becomes more powerful when communities actively participate.

Every volunteer who joins a cleanup helps create momentum for future activities and inspires others to become involved.

Through the ESG-IN platform, environmental participation is combined with digital technology, making it easier to encourage positive behavior while recognizing the contributions of individuals and communities.

Real environmental impact begins with people who are willing to take action.

Looking Ahead

The second river cleanup represents another milestone in ESG-IN's growing environmental activities across Indonesia.

In the coming months, ESG-IN will continue organizing climate actions, collaborating with local communities, and expanding programs that connect environmental responsibility with meaningful participation.

Small actions repeated consistently create lasting change.

This is only the beginning.
